"Surrender" A writer, Russell Duesdal, returns to his childhood town carrying the ashes of a boyhood friend. Upon returning to his old house Russell re-experiences the past. It's 1969. Apollo 11. The first lunar landing. A young thirteen year-old agoraphobic Russell is obsessed with man's first journey to the moon. A strange sister and brother move in next door to Russell on the eve of the lift-off. Michael Foley is a cruel red-haired dreamer who believes he is on the "short list for the Apollo 11 lunar mission". He is chained to his house by a forty-foot dog-leash Mary, his sister, taunts Russell with her beauty. Michael and Mary soon inflict a torturing battle for Russell's moon-obsessed soul. Renaissant is currently developing the feature film "Jack's Place", and is raising new interest in potential screenplay projects through Renaissant's on-going Reading Series (please see theatre page).
